If you can grow your own flowers you are rewarded with the fruits of your efforts
I was in need of more space in my yard for planting so I made this wall from fieldstone and brought in enriched top soil.
These round stones are hard to work with. The flat fieldstone are much easier to use.
It took a while to place them so they would stay. Block Adhesive is good to use so they stay put.

I like to practice planting and growing at home.
Astilbe are deer resistant.
Hyacinths are a great start to Spring.
There are also Grape Hyacinths
Then Tulips
Irises are great center pieces.
Black Irises are a little smaller than others.
Knock-Out Roses are disease resistant.
Sedums make nice filler.
This is a deciduous Azalea.

Rock Gardens
This entire property was covered with Delaware River Rock.
This homeowner wanted a low maintenance flower bed using (1"- 3") beach pebbles. The areas will be planted, and weed mat installed. The beds will then have mulch and stone applied throughout.
All utilities are first marked out.
This project was large and will be broken down in parts.
After planting weed mat was fitted and stapled in.
The mulch contrasted by the rock really sets the bed off.
The rest of the beds tie into the main bed.
First the planting!
Followed by weed mat!
Not all the plants are new, some were moved about to make room for the new plants.
This area goes around the side of the house to the back.

A customer wanted two flower beds installed. One on each side of the house. I use red flags to mark underground cables.
The sod needs to come out first. A sod cutter is the best tool to use.
I plant the bed first then cover the bare ground with a breathable weed-mat.
The weed-mat is stapled in also contains a french drain rolled into the top edge of the fabric to keep the mulch from washing away.
The tree planted is a white birch. After the weed-mat is secure, mulch is applied.
The bed has now been completed to the customer's satisfaction.
