House Painting / Wood Repair
This Colonial house needed wood repairs and a new look.

I used Benjamin Moore Regal Select Exterior (Soft Gloss) .... Semigloss as well as Satin. The door was Aura Exterior "Carriage Red"

Bright colors on the Front Door are a contrast to the Williamsburg Theme. They are much warmer.

I installed two "Fypon" Corbels on either side of the entrance posts. "Fypon" is a manufacturer that uses polyurethane and sometimes PVC to create castings of decorative wood pieces.

They look just like wood but will never rot.

A lot of this type of embelishment can be seen in the historic districts of Chester County.

While on this job, I spent some time burnishing the copper flashing. It sets off the fresh paint job especially on the window frames.

Repairs were done to remove and replace rotten wood around the window frames.

Leaving rotten wood and painting over it is a shortcut that is not worth taking. I try to use PVC trim when I replace rotten wood especially the fascia boards behind gutters.

Door frames often go bad near the bottom. It is much less expensive to do a small repair than replace it.

After the wood was repaired, the posts were sanded and then stained a "Teak" color.

I removed the screen panels on this porch prior to painting as it made application much easier.

A good pressure washing gets rid of the mildew.

It is important to keep the shrubbery down around the structure.

All this house needed was trim painting.
